Christmas Happenings

Cali Christmas 2010. I don't think I laugh as much with anyone as much as I laugh with my family!! We always enjoy each other and we really enjoyed this past vacay with them!!!
It rained 80% of the time while we were there. But it was nice and relaxing!! It made the vacay nice and cozy!!
Al bought Pat some beach cruisers and we got to spectate as they attempted to put them together. Z jumped in to help, but the rest of the fam were entertained by watching them.
My dad and Zach did a gret job getting a steal at Kohls for my mom's Kitchenaid mixer. She had been debating for awhile whether she wanted one or not and my dad had decided to just go for it and surprise her for Christmas (thanks to Z's help)! We surprised her beforehand so that she could use it to make all the Christmas goodies for the feast:) She loves it!! She loves saying, "Look, no hands!"
It definitely got its use over the holidays!
"One size fits most." I've never seen such a size until Rachel gave Zach this pre-wrapped robe for Christmas! Zach put it on and it's obviously a women's robe or something because the robe doesn't fit any man. (Rachel had no idea and it was in the men's section so she just thought- oh this will be great for Z.)
For the past 23 years or so we have had a Christmas dinner with our good family friends- The Reids. The evening consists of lasagna, green bean casserole, salad, bread, and dessert. It's tradition! And we all go around the table lighting a candle saying what we are thankful for the past year. It's tradition :) Well as the "kids" have gotten older we've thrown in some Christmas themes. This year's theme was: Christmas PJ's and the judged categories were: creativity, humor, comfy/cozy, and festive.
Zach won for most humorous! Krista won most creative and Best overall! Al & Maria won most festive as one unit. And lastly, my mom won the most comfy/cozy.
Kenny and Rach--- Rach had penguin PJ's and painted her face to match them! Haha!!

My Grandma has a family recipe for peppernuts. Growing up she would always make them around the holidays. It's been quite a few years though since she's made them. So for her bday (Christmas Eve) we decided to use my mom's Kitchenaid mixer and make the peppernuts with grams! She loved it!! They kind of taste like ginger snaps or something... they're good!!
We opened gifts Christmas Eve night and Rachel got lil Parker this cute Lakers onesie. Z was loving it!
And I got Z ESPN's 30 for 30. I had never heard of it until I went to Cali and didn't realize all the hype about it. (It's basically 30 documentaries on sports figures that ESPN has been showing the past year.) Every store was sold out and even Amazon was on back order! Luckily my mom was able to find the last 2 at Wal-Mart and so she picked one up for me to give to Zach! I think he's really lovin them!!
Zach (the animal lover) and Ginger ( the spoiled brat) but you just can't help it! She's so cuddly and soft! She pretty much gets anything she wants!

Our last Christmas--just me and you, you and me...
Rachel's rap group- Absolutley Parched (click here for one of my previous posts about the group) is releasing an Earth Album this year. Ya know- about being Green and all. So of course Zach wanted in on this, and Al jumped in too. They made a rap called, "The Not so Secret Garden." And here are some of their photo ops that I got to take of them...
Drippity, Tiny Bubbles, Lil Fizz (these are their cover names)
Unfortunately the song has a "parental advisory" label, so I won't be sharing it on the blog. But when the edited version comes out, I'll be sure to share it--- Rach makes the edited version for my mom and I guess me too:)
