ONE YEAR

and just like that...

you are ONE YEAR'S OLD!

(so much for my backdrop)

we started out the morning with a cinnamon roll!

you had no problem digging right in

so we gave you a bath in the sink to clean you off

you enjoyed watching videos of yourself (you gave yourself a round of applause)

you had your first girl scout cookie

it was only half of a thin mint, but you sure made it look like you ate mud or something

we gave you your birthday present... and thus far you just like to put it in your mouth

and throw the balls... but you're not very interested in how the toy works

so then we thought, well let's give you your birthday book

and obviously you weren't too thrilled about the book either (I guess we bombed your first birthday presents!)

so we took you to the park and you LOVED that!

you got to swing with daddy

slide with daddy

play in the dirt

eat the dirt

and ride the froggy

hugs and kisses just for you Parker ;)!

can you tell where Parker gets his crazy hair... kinda obvious

we hung out at the house and you practiced taking steps

you get so excited that I think your brain moves faster than those legs

we ended your night with some birthday cake (Tres Leche, your dad's favorite)

and surprisingly, you were not interested

at all

so Dad shoved it in your face thinking you'd like that

(everyone in their birthday suit...jk! totally jk! Z had just cut his hair...)

well atleast you made a good photo op out of your birthday cake

and I hate to confess it, but maybe the sugar is what kept you up all night... I really didn't think it was that much, but maybe it was overboard. Oh well, live and learn. And just make Dad get up all night;)

I love you sweet Parker! I can't believe it's been ONE WHOLE YEAR!!! There's been ups and downs figuring out this whole parenting thing, but through it all, God has been so faithful with His peace, grace, love, and strength. You're making us better Parker! And you have NO IDEA how much JOY you have brought me and your Dad!!! Your smile, your voice, your laugh, your sweet heart, is unbelievably lovable!!! If I'm not with you I'm looking at your pictures or videos all day!! We are truly blessed by your life and I continue to pray that you will bless others with your life!!! You are LOVED, you are CHERISHED, you are my favorite PARKER BURTON JONES! Happy First Birthday!!!
