Duty to Assist

That is actually a phrase we use for work.. It's our duty to assist the veteran. However, today I spent some of the morning at the courthouse. I had jury duty for the first time. Everyone said that I'll be interviewed, bring a book because you'll just be sitting there, and dress professionally. So I prepared myself. I got to the courthouse and it was crazy crowded with people because the Matt Baker trial was going on (very sad, disgusting story). I tried to act like I knew what I was doing, but apparently my lost look gave it away. So a police officer directed me to the courtroom I needed to be in. It was fine and filled, and I squeezed into a row with 4 other ladies. A judge came in and debriefed us, only to prepare us for the next judge to come in and talk about exemptions. Basically, there were no interviews and they shuffled the summons letters that we filled out and drew the names from them. I said some prayers, and thankfully I wasn't chosen!! So I spent a little over an hour missing work, to get some juror experience (or the lack there of) and get my a Cafe Cap latte :) It was worth it! Nothing too exciting... I was going to post some pictures of the weekend and my first trip to Canton, but my pictures are loading way tooooooo slow! So I'll wait till Friday on my day off :) Yay for only a 3 day work week!!!
