Parents Visit

Well Thursday night I watched Julie&Julia and was re-inspired to blog (wasn't a huge fan of the movie and Z fell asleep.) Actually I just hadn't really had time the past few weeks with parents visiting and Z's birthday. But now life slowed down for a sec and I am going to catch up...

So 2 weekends ago my parents came to visit for World Mandate!! We had a great time and enjoyed the conference and each others company!! By the end of it I just thanked God again and again that I could share something so special with my parents. It's a unique thing to have the love and support from your parents on a spiritual level. It was truly a blessing to get to share our thoughts and feelings about the different sermons and my favorite was when I got to be with them and pray for them with others to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. We were all touched! (thank you Lord!)

Well before my dad came he said he FEDEXed a box to our house but we couldn't open it until he got there. And if you know Zach, well that's like putting a baby in a Candy shop and saying don't touch. Zach gets so excited about packages, even so much that he'll open mine before I do. This is a true statement. So Zach gets the box on Thursday and has no idea what it is. Of course he looks at the label and googles the place to try and get some hints. He still has no idea. The next morning, my dad says the presentation can begin...
I think my dad was just as excited to give the gift to Zach as Zach was anticipating all week long to receive his early birthday gift!
Lo and behold my dad presenting him a Samurai sword... initiating him as becoming a man. My dad was impressed to give this gift to Zach as my dad has recently been inspired by the Lord of what it means to be a man. My dad doesn't have any sons so this was very special for him and me to watch. He said some encouraging words to Zach and then shared the importance of becoming a man, the man God created him to be. He shared some scripture and then presented Zach the sword saying he can do this for his sons one day too. Zach said ok, probably when he's around 6 years old... very cute, Z...
My dad also mentioned how God has given Z a sword (the Word) so that he may protect me, make me feel secure, and constantly pursue me in action and truth.. good word Dad!
Trying to give a warrior look that didn't turn out so warriorish
And moving on... we played some ping pong in Z's new office (he moved downtown off 9th & Austin, only a block or two from me, yay :)
my mom has some mad skills; she'll let you know what's up
I think we were watching the Grammy's and something came on in 3-D. And I just happened to have my 3-D glasses from the cowboy game in my purse. I mean, you'll never know when you'll need them.. technology these days
Monday, Z & I took the day off and went to Dallas with my parents. We stopped at the Book Depository where JFK was assassinated. I had been there before with my older sis Rachel, but this time we got a personal tour from Homey G. (I forgot his name)
The JFK memorial
One of my favorite things ever....I love when trees are over sidewalks or streets!
Homey G giving us the tour
Saying farewell...
